Doctors reveal the true benefits of hard-boiled eggs for breakfast…

For years, my breakfast was simple: a bowl of cereal, a splash of milk, and off I went home. It was quick, easy, and seemingly harmless. Yet, by mid-morning, I was hungry, irritable, and snacking on whatever was within reach. I thought it was normal, that everyone experienced a mid-morning slump.

Everything changed during a routine medical visit. After reviewing my blood tests, my doctor asked me a simple question: "What do you eat for breakfast?" When I answered, she paused, then made a simple suggestion I'll never forget: "Try eating two hard-boiled eggs every morning for a month. Don't change anything else. Just add the eggs. Then come back and see me."

I was skeptical. Hard-boiled eggs seemed ordinary, even boring. But I decided to try it. Every morning, I ate two hard-boiled eggs, cooked the day before, at my desk.

The changes were subtle at first. After a week, I noticed I wasn't hungry at 10 a.m. After two weeks, my afternoon craving for sweets had disappeared. After a month, I went back to my doctor. My cholesterol hadn't increased, as I'd feared, and several indicators had even improved. I'd also lost two and a half kilos without any particular effort.

That was ten years ago. I still eat hard-boiled eggs almost every morning and, over the years, I have understood the mechanisms that explain their benefits.

Why hard-boiled eggs?

Before discussing the benefits, it's important to consider how they are prepared. Hard-boiled eggs, whether soft-boiled or hard-boiled, offer undeniable advantages:

No added fats: unlike fried or scrambled eggs, which often require butter, oil or cream, hard-boiled eggs only require water.
