Ingredients
To the steak
- 600 g beef (sirloin, entrecΓ΄te or thigh), cut into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil
Vegetables
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 large yellow onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (optional)
Sauce
- 1 dl soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 cup water or meat broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in a little cold water
Serving
- Jasminris
- Sesame seeds
- Chopped green onion
Do this:
1. Prepare the meat
Mix the meat strips with the cornstarch and let them rest for about 10 minutes. This will help the meat become extra tender and give it a nice surface when frying.
2. Fry the meat
Heat a wok or large frying pan well. Fry the meat in batches over high heat for 2β3 minutes until nicely browned. Set aside.
3. Fry the vegetables
Fry the peppers, onions, garlic and possibly ginger in the same pan for a few minutes. The vegetables should still have some chewiness.
