Soft frying pan bread โ simple, airy and clear without oven
There are few things that beat the scent of freshly baked bread. These soft frying pan breads are perfect when you want to bake something tasty without using the oven. They become wonderfully fluffy, get a golden surface and are just as suitable for breakfast as for soup, grilled or as pita bread for various fillings.
Best of all, they are made with simple ingredients that most people already have at home.
Ingredients
- 500 g wheat flour
- 7 g dry yeast or 25 g fresh yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 300 ml lukewarm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or neutral cooking oil
Do this

Mix the lukewarm water with yeast and sugar. Leave for about 5โ10 minutes until the yeast begins to activate.
Add flour, salt and oil and knead into a soft and supple dough. Work the dough for about 8โ10 minutes.

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a kitchen towel. Leave to rise for 60โ90 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten them into round loaves, about 12โ15 cm in diameter.
Let rest for another 15โ20 minutes.

Heat a dry frying pan over medium heat.
Place one loaf of bread at a time in the pan and bake for about 2โ3 minutes per side. The bread will puff up and get beautiful golden brown spots.
Continue until all the breads are ready.
